Two Basic Blocks; Three Great Quilts
June 14, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Want to learn to quilt? This workshop is for you. Either the “Beginning to Quilt Class” or basic sewing experience is a prerequisite. There are a minimum number of rules to learn! You will learn to make two basic quilt blocks: Four Patch and Half Square Triangles. These are both easy to make and require only a straight seam line with a consistent seam width. You will learn techniques to get “Two for One” for both blocks. We will then explore the different ways to put these basic blocks together to make three very different looking quilts.
You will learn the rules associated with quilting and you will get an introduction to the various tools which make your quilting life so much easier. In this two-day class you will likely not get the quilt top finished. However, you will get blocks of both types made and learn the details for finishing your quilt (putting the blocks together, backing, batting, quilting, and binding).
A finished lap quilt made from your blocks would be perfect for snuggling under while watching TV or would look great on the back of your sofa. You may choose to make a smaller quilt perfect for “Tummy Time” for that next new baby in your life!
Lunch plans will be decided by the group. The restaurants and coffee shops are within walking distance.
A $75.00 class fee is for both sessions.
Sharon Cline is the instructor.
