Join blacksmith, Ty Murray, for a hands-on blacksmithing workshop. You will be working outdoors over a coal fired forge. There is only one forge and anvil and it will have to be on a take a turn – based event. He will stay all day until everyone has had a chance to make their own leaf key chain or hook.

If you are an experienced student, he will have something different for you to make. Plan to spend a relaxing day working with fellow students. Discover the historic beauty of the iron forge! Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes – something you don’t mind getting small holes in.

A $60.00 class fee plus a $5.00 materials fee.

Ty grew up on a little acreage in rural Stratford, Iowa. Right where the Boone and Des Moines Rivers converge west of Stratford. He grew up working with his hands. He learned skills which have been passed from father to son for centuries. His active blacksmithing studio is names Boone Forks Forge and is located in Stratford, Iowa. He will also display his high-quality products like hooks and fire pokers.
