Bell’s Mill Park
Quiet is a one word used to describe this small park located within the Boone Forks. Camping along the river and a popular canoe access is available. This park is also home to a one room school house and a pioneer log cabin.

Briggs Woods Park
Briggs Woods Park is the first and oldest county park in Iowa. Located south of Webster City along the Boone River, this park includes camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, golfing, biking and canoe/kayak rentals. We also have 7 cabins that are open year round.

Brushy Creek State Recreation Area
At 6,500 acres, Brushy Creek SRA is one of Iowa’s premier outdoor recreation destinations. The land is a mosaic of native prairie, grassland, timber, riparian, and lake habitats with a 690-acre lake. The area has an extensive network of equestrian, mountain biking, and hiking trails. It also features two equestrian campgrounds and a non-equestrian campground.

Camp WaNoKi
Camp Wa-No-Ki is a 77-acre riverfront forest that was once a Camp Fire Camp. Under the direction of the Webster County Conservation Board, the primary goal of this property is to provide outdoor education and recreation opportunities for the general public. The camp offers hiking trails, fishing access, cabin rental, hike-in campsites, and a lodge.

Dalander Park
Dalander Park, located within the city limits of Madrid, is one of the City of Madrid’s newest parks where nature enthusiasts can enjoy a peaceful setting while roaming the newly resurrected prairie area that was formerly a piece of agricultural land. The upper area of the park houses the new Johnson Family Trailhead with access to the popular High Trestle Trail.

Dickcissel Park
Dickcissel Park, located east of the city of Boone, offers a 13 acre lake that has recently undergone a re-stocking program in 2015. The lake has been re-stocked with Yellow Perch and Largemouth Bass with varying size. Hunting is not permitted at Dickcissel Park.

Dolliver State Park
Sandstone formations called the “Copperas Beds” and a narrow ravine running between rock walls given the name “Boneyard Hollow” are just two of the fascinating features you can learn about when you visit this park. Boasting a widely varied landscape including forest, bluffs, canyons, the Des Moines River, Prairie Creek, and Indian mounds, Dolliver is a diamond in the rough.

Don Williams Recreation Area
Don Williams Recreation Area, located north of the city of Ogden, is home to the 150 acre Don Williams Lake where anglers can get out and try their luck year round. A variety of fish can be found here including Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Walleye, and Channel Catfish and a bait shop is located on site. Hunting is not permitted at Don Williams Recreation Area.

J.B. McHose Park
J.B. McHose Park, located within the southern part of the City of Boone, is the largest and most popular destination within the city’s vast parks system. J.B. McHose Park, or simply McHose Park as the locals call it, has a wide range of recreational opportunities including the city’s municipal swimming pool, organized sports facilities, trails, playgrounds, a dog park, and an 18-hole disc golf course.

John F. Kennedy Memorial Park
This park, one of the largest and most popular managed by the Webster County Conservation Board, is a 400-acre multiple-use recreation area. The 53-acre Badger Lake provides the focal point for a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, canoeing, and boating (no gas motors).

Kendall Young Park
Kendall Young Park is a beautiful scenic area located one mile north of Webster City. The park has four shelter houses, six picnic area, horseshoe pit, playground equipment, and a fishing area.

Lincoln Prairie Park
Lincoln Prairie Park, located within the city limits of Ogden, is one of the many beautiful assets along the Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway that stretches from Lincoln Park in San Francisco to Times Square in New York City. This park offers a hard surface trail throughout the prairie here and also a gazebo and interpretive panel explaining its history along the Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway.

Swede Point Park, located just west of the City of Madrid, is a 128 acre “diamond in the rough” that boasts some of the most beautiful views of the Des Moines River Valley in the area. Swede Point Park has become a popular location for overnight visitors to the High Trestle Trail, which is only a short bike ride away.
