Interlocking Rings Quilt
February 3 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, repeating until February 10, 2024
This beginning quilting class consists of two-session on consecutive Saturdays. The Interlocking Rings pattern makes a striking quilt (48” x 60”) on either a light or dark background. It uses easy cutting (strips sub-cut into rectangles or squares), a forgiving “stich and flip” technique for angles, and straight line sewing. At the end of the class, you will have a quilt top ready for quilting (or the know how to get there!)
Requirements:
1 ¾ yards background (it wouldn’t hurt to have 2 yards in case of a miscut) 24 fabrics to make 12 coordinating pairs.
You will need 24 2 ½” strips, so a Jelly Roll will work.
Thread, sewing machine, rotary cutter, pencil for marking sew lines.
Alternatively, this is a great time to raid your stash for “remainders” to get your twelve pairs of width of fabric (40-45”) 2½” strips.
This quilt pattern was designed for the Blue Ridge Quilt Guild in 2012 by a member who has been published in quilt magazines. It is taught with permission of the designer.
Instructor: Sharon Cline
A cutting mat and ironing board/iron will be available at the class, but you may bring your own; rulers will be available, or you may bring your favorite. If you are a confident rotary cutter user and wish to come with fabrics cut and ready to sew, contact the instructor for cutting instructions
