Clear Lake Sailors 4-H 5K Run/Walk

First 5K Run/Walk in 2022 in Hamilton County, Iowa! The Clear Lake Sailors 4-H 5K Run/Walk is a youth-lead project to promote healthy lifestyles, community involvement, & friendly competition. All proceeds will help fund various club activities, community service projects, and scholarships for our graduating seniors. It will take place Saturday, April 2nd, 2022. Snow date is Saturday, April 9, 2022. Check-in begins at 9:45 a.m., and start time is 10:00 a.m.
REGISTRATION:
Entry fee: $25
Entry fee for students age 7-12: $15
Children age 6 and under: free
Entry fees include a short-sleeve t-shirt, with the option during registration to upgrade to long-sleeve for an additional $5. Participation is open to anyone, and is not restricted to residents living in Hamilton County.
Bottled water and a snack will be provided at the end of the route.
ROUTE:
The entire route will be within the city limits of Jewell, Iowa. The route will begin at South Hamilton High School and end in the same place. Check-in begins at 9:45 a.m., and start time is 10:00 a.m. The route map will be posted on the Facebook page, as well as marked with chalked arrows on the day of event. Volunteers will be located along the route to help guide.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
The route will be monitored at various locations by 4-H club members, parents and volunteers, as well as sag wagon support! If you need assistance, locate one of these volunteers, who will be identified by wearing a 5K race shirt or 4-H shirt, and they can help call for further assistance.

All monies raised by this event will go to a separate scholarship account for our club. These scholarships will help graduating seniors going to college in the next years. Last year we were able to give $900 in scholarships to our graduating seniors! All income and expenses are overseen by Hamilton County ISU Extension and Outreach.
